A lot of women have died during childbirth due to bleeding in the past, especially African women. This is highly pathetic and unacceptable especially as this bleeding can be prevented and avoided totally.
Birthing a human is by no means an easy job. Nature gave you nine full months so that you can prepare for your baby's arrival. This preparation should cover your health, that of the unborn baby as much as you prepare for meeting your physical needs and that of your baby.
Every woman should be intentional when it comes to taking good care of themselves during pregnancy.
Now, that being said, it is worth noting that apart from bleeding, there are a lot of unhealthy practices that send some mothers to their graves untimely. Some of them are highlighted below:
1. Getting pregnant shortly after a recent pregnancy/ childbirth.
What this means is that if the womb hasn't healed properly before taking in, there's the possibility that the womb could explode during the course of the pregnancy or during labour and you know what that means.
2. Not taking routine drugs while pregnant can lead to undesirable outcomes which includes bleeding and other complications for both mother and baby.
3. Not eating vegetables/ not taking blood tonics during pregnancy will mean that you will have low PCV and this will increase your chances of bleeding as well as maternal death.
It is advisable to always keep your blood levels up during pregnancy in order to avoid bleeding.
